We accept most major insurance plans. Occasionally we encounter plans that we are not able to bill directly. When that happens, we will always do our best to help you find the most affordable option and determine whether we can become an in-network provider for your plan in the future.
Yes, under Pennsylvania law there are situations where a pharmacist may decline to fill a prescription. 49 Pa. Code § 27.18(c) states that a pharmacist may decline to fill or refill a prescription if the pharmacist knows or has reason to know that it is false, fraudulent, unlawful, or if the prescription is submitted through a third-party payor that will not reimburse the pharmacist for that prescription.
Yes. Pennsylvania law allows pharmacists to use professional judgment when evaluating prescriptions. Under 49 Pa. Code § 27.18 — Standards of Practice, a pharmacist may decline to fill a prescription if there is reason to believe the prescription is false, fraudulent, unlawful, or not issued for a legitimate medical purpose. For controlled substances, federal law also applies. 21 CFR § 1306.04(a) requires that a prescription for a controlled substance be issued for a legitimate medical purpose by a practitioner acting within the usual course of professional practice. Pharmacists have a corresponding responsibility to ensure the prescription is appropriate and valid.
